Kindermusik Program Information

     Kindermusik is a well-developed early childhood program of music learning and enjoyment which nurtures the total development of the child. It brings the joy of music and movement to the lives of children birth to 7 years. Kindermusik creates an environment in which children explore their world through music.

     Kindermusik gives a total musical experience with the emphasis being on process not performance. Kindermusik uses music to encourage early learning and creativity in children. Music is the means, not the goal.

     Children in Kindermusik will:

be introduced to musical instruments	discover their singing voices	learn to think musically
develop coordination through simple dance movements	become more attentive liseners	experience the joy of music

     Children who have participated in these programs are musically prepared to begin instrumental lessons, dance lessons, sing in a choir, join in music classes at school, take part in an ensemble, or simply enjoy music as a part of life.

     Recent studies suggest that musical training improves math and mental reasoning skills in pre-school aged children and it has been determined that a person's musical aptitude diminishes after age 9. Musically speaking, if a child does not have any early childhood music experiences, they will never reach their full musical potential!!

     All levels of Kindermusik are for the whole family. The role of the parents is to create a musical environment at home so the children can expand and enrich the Kindermusik experience there.
